For the past few years, even more so than before, us skiers and snowboarders are forced to scout for snow, analyze the forecasts and weather patterns in order to catch great powder turns. With ever growing skiing community, finding a place away from the crowds or even more; the terrain that is Untouched and Unskied is becoming almost impossible. In our quest to find something wild, remote, isolated and with loads of good quality snow - we headed south, into the heart of the Balkans. After years of analyzing, exploring and preparing, together with Sebastian Fleiss, we found our new base for the winter.

In this season we have successfully launched our new project, a Heliski operation in Prokletije mountains in Albania! After scouting location and filming with TGR (Teton Gravity Research) there last year we had an amazing training season for commercial heliski there this year, had a great time with our first guests, filmed some more material in amazing company of Nitro Snowboards team from all parts of the globe. The movie from last year can be seen in Vimeo on demand and iTunes, as for this years film we will have to wait until fall 2019.
Our terrain spreads over 1500 square kilometers, with 9 different zones. The Prokletije area is a subrange of the 1,000 km long Dinaric Alps. The Prokletije are a typical high mountain range with a pronounced steep topography and glacial features. Maximum relief differences of 1800 meters are found in the Valbona- our base, Grbaja and Ropojani and Cijevna Valley.
Located roughly 85 km from Mediterranean sea the snow pack resembles that of Alaska. The Prokletije is overall the wettest area of Europe. In the village of Boga, precipitation is 3,033 millimetres. At higher elevations snow is found most of the time even in the summer. In the winter some villages in Albanian part of Prokletije are completely cut off from the rest of the world for months due to the very heavy snow.
Welcome to one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world!
